Program Information

The Trailability Program at Bear Creek and Fountain Creek Nature Centers utilizes “Terrain Hoppers” or off-road mobility vehicles that allow members of the El Paso County community and visiting guests with disabilities to experience trails previously inaccessible to them.

The 1-3-mile trails will take participants through the varying foothills and wetlands habitats, accompanied by their friends and family as well as a Nature Center volunteer or staff member. Participation in the Trailability Program is completely free!

Reservations for 2026 will be offered May 1-October 31 at both Nature Centers, morning and afternoon on varying days of the week.

Testimonials

“I loved the Terrain Hopper. It was so comfortable and easy to navigate, once I got the hang of it. Everyone was wonderful! The staff were so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. We will definitely sign up again.”

“For me, seeing my wife so thrilled about being able to get out into nature again definitely made my day. Being out in nature was such a big part of our lives. Camping, fishing, and walking together were regular activities. Time has made them impossible for her. This afforded her an opportunity to visit nature she thought was lost forever, and we are so thankful we were able to do this.”

“Everyone directly involved with our visit was fantastic. They were helpful, pleasant, informative, and seemed to be as thrilled about the program as we were. We would like to pass along our most heartfelt thanks for their part in our journey.”
