Volunteer Opportunities

At El Paso County Parks, volunteers are at the heart of our mission to protect, enhance, and preserve the parks, trails, open spaces, nature centers, and recreation facilities that enrich our community. Through active stewardship, collaboration, and a shared passion for the outdoors, volunteers help ensure these special places remain vibrant and welcoming for generations to come.

Whether you’re interested in volunteering as an individual, with your family, or as part of a business, school, civic organization, or community group, there are opportunities for everyone to make a meaningful difference.

Volunteer Opportunities

El Paso County Parks offers a wide variety of volunteer projects throughout the County. Working alongside our Park District Supervisors and Nature Center staff, volunteers help complete projects that improve visitor experiences, protect natural resources, and support long-term stewardship.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Trail construction and maintenance
  • Park and facility improvements
  • Landscape renovation and beautification
  • Litter and debris cleanup
  • Invasive species removal
  • Habitat restoration
  • Fire mitigation projects
  • Special events and community outreach
  • Nature Center Restoration Crews

Interested in leading volunteer projects? We encourage community leaders to consider the Rocky Mountain Field Institute’s Pikes Peak Regional Crew Leader Training to develop the skills needed to safely organize and lead volunteer workdays.

Every donation is designated to the specific County park, trail, open space, or facility you choose.
